"Kissinger has fin rot," said my sister the other day when she peered into his bowl.  She then directed me to go to the pet store and get some medicine and special cleaners for his home. (I am hoping that, by now, you have surmised that Kissinger is a fish.) About the time I started my M.A., I decided I needed a fish.  So I went and purchased a Betta fish and named him Kissinger.  Several years down the line, that Kissinger decided he was finished swimming forever and so we bought a new fish and named him, Kissinger Also.

Kissinger Also has an extraordinary story -- he saved my life.  And he saved my home from burning down.  I adore this fish.  I'm not quite ready to tell you the dramatic story of how it all occurred (it really needs to be told with my Allie Brosh style cartoons for maximum impact) but you now understand there's a reason why, yesterday, I left the house in the middle of my CD converting to go purchase $30 worth of medicine for a $3 fish.

I'm not entirely sure how we are going to get Kissinger to England - maybe the Queen Mary will let him stay in my room?  But I love this fish.  Stay tuned for more on the adventures of Kissinger Also, the life-saving fish!
